Evaluating the Exodus Model

Exodus utilized a database customized to track participants progress in the Exodus Contract process. For each life area, we now record whether the participant has not yet created an action plan, has created a plan but has not taken action, is moving forward, has stopped his progress, or has achieved a goal. By also tracking employment and recidivism data, we will be able to determine which contract areas are most related to successful reintegration.

After examining a year or two of data, we will be able to answer numerous questions about reentry strategies such as: efforts in which areas are most related to decrease in recidivism or what is the increase in employment retention for people who complete family goals. This type of information will not only help us improve our program design, but will also provide guidance to reentry initiatives nationwide.
