Hello Friends

Just a quick note to let you all know that I had a fantastic holiday and look forward to an exciting new year. Yeah, I got the regular stuff and gifts like Snausages, Pupperoni... but my Dad put me on a diet so no more on-demand Snausages or treats - only when I’m good.

So, although I didn't get any great surprises this year, I still feel a sense of excitement in the air for Deliver the Dream’s first event of the 2018 season. Red Hot White Party is being held on February 23rd at the amazing FATVillage. The evening features some pretty amazing opportunities to bid on unique and fun dates with singles from all over South Florida.

In my role as chief security officer at Deliver the Dream I don’t think it’s beyond the realm of possibility that maybe this year we add a date opportunity for me. You know... maybe a sweet little poodle looking to share a single strand of spaghetti??? Yeah, I always seem to feel like a third wheel!

Obviously, not everyone has to worry about the things I do. If you would like to throw caution to the wind: and bid on an opportunity to meet new people, or win a date package, then you don’t want to miss Red Hot! Keep your eyes open for information on this event: buy your tickets early, and secure your opportunity to enjoy a really great evening! And yes, I’ll be there looking forward to my own strand of spaghetti date with Fifi!!!

If you need more information on either participating as a Bachelor or Bachelorette (this is your chance to make things happen in 2018) or information on purchasing tickets for the event itself, feel free to give us a call at DTD at 954-564-3512.

With a sniff and a lick,
Chief Security Officer, Deliver the Dream

Welcome our new Event Manager, Katie Mogell! Katie was born and raised in Boca Raton, FL. She is a proud alumni of The Florida State University and is incredibly passionate about fundraising. She spent the last 2 years working as Development Coordinator for UF Health Shands Children's Hospital & Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in the West Palm Beach area. Katie is very excited to be joining our team and is looking forward to delivering dreams to families throughout the state of Florida.

The Andrews-Brisson-Sampey Family from Bradenton (From the left- Ben, Taran, Billy and Colins) attended the recent retreat for families who have a child with Down syndrome. “Ya’ll are Amazing People and this Organization is really making a difference in the lives of so many of us! You provided us with a chance to network with other families and we left armed with a wealth of information! We feel truly Blessed. We just can’t Thank you enough.”

We would like to recognize Helen Plummer as our Volunteer of the Month. Helen went on her first retreat back 2006 and just attended our retreat this past weekend for families who have a child with Down syndrome (165th retreat)! She did a wonderful job as a family pal and worked very hard to make sure her family was relaxed and well taken care of the entire weekend. Helen's family loved her dearly and enjoyed the weekend very much! Thank you, Helen, for joining us on your 35th retreat, and we hope to see you again soon on many more!

Grants are the lifeblood of Deliver the Dream, helping to provide healing respite retreats for families dealing with critical illness, crisis or bereavement free of cost. If you know of a foundation, private donor or corporation that would like to send one or more of our families on a retreat weekend, please contact Venetia Timm at 954-564-3512 or email venetia.timm@deliverthedream.org and she will follow through with research and an application. If you know the foundation or donor personally, it helps tremendously to have an open door. We will step in and do the rest!

Many thanks to the Harry T. Mangurian Foundation for their most generous grant to support Deliver the Dream’s retreats for families who are dealing with the devastating effects of cancer.

For the past decade, the Harry T. Mangurian Foundation has helped Deliver the Dream to provide healing, respite retreats for children and adults going through the stress and pain of a critical illness, bereavement or crisis and special retreats for Post 9/11 Veterans and their families.
